I love living and working in Jakarta. Over the past year and a half it has become home. I love the food. I love the people. Most days I even love the weather. Basically, in general I just love it here. I guess that is why I am so unbelievably excited that my assignment here has been extended and I get to stay in Jakarta an extra year!!

I’m particularly excited because I feel like I’m just now really getting in the groove of the community health projects I am working on, so to leave in a few months just doesn’t give me enough time. I am excited for what the next year and a half holds, especially in regards to the health programs in the works.

This year the holiday season was quite different than usual…but still full of adventure and fun. I started to try to describe all the insanity that went on, but then decided that it would be much better to just show you in a video…

I am beyond blessed to have such a wonderful community around me that made my first holiday season away from my family pretty great.
