these are a few of my “thankful” things…

This week I’ve had the amazing opportunity to attend a Community Health Education conference in Bali. One of the exercises we did yesterday was called an “appreciative inquiry.” Basically we had to go around the room and each say one good thing that we liked about the place where we lived. As people started sharing what they loved about their homes and it got closer, and closer to my turn, I realized that it was incredibly hard to narrow it down to just one thing that I loved about Jakarta. That exercise reminded me about how much I love Indonesia and how thankful I am to able to work here.

I am thankful for the amazing people I get to live with, work with, and do life with…

I am thankful for IES and the other communities that I have gotten to work in…

I am thankful for the incredible food…

I am thankful for good coffee…

I am thankful for the beauty of the country in general…

Basically, to sum it up, I am thankful that Indonesia is my home.

Happy thanksgiving!
