The Places We Live

I was doing some research on Jakarta and came across this amazing website called, “The Places We Live.” This site gives you glimpses into the lives of slum-dwellers and their homes through a series of narrated photo tours.

As I was watching the four stories related to Jakarta, I was amazed by their outlook on life-and how even being given a bench to sleep on was a blessing not everyone has.

I invite you to explore their stories–particularly those of Asanah, Imin, Sabur, and Suarno–the four featured residents of the Jakarta slum. I think it is important that we understand the blessings we have and I think that seeing and hearing the stories of people from different places around the world opens your eyes to understand what we have, yet what we truly lack–perspective.
